Blepharoptosis is often caused by a loosening of the tendon-like structure that lifts the eyelids, or by congenital malformation, trauma, muscular or neurologic disease. Eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, can improve the area around your eye and improve your overall appearance. First our team works with each patient during a pre-surgical consultation, to understand their medical history and answer questions about vision, tear production, contact lens use, circulatory concerns, genetics and surgical needs. Once cleared for surgery, our expert team removes excess skin and fatty deposits on both the upper and lower eyelids. Blepharoplasty corrects eyelid issues by removing puffiness and bags around your eyes and results in a younger, firmer, rejuvenated area around the eye, and helps with vision. Whether a patient is looking for functional, medical or cosmetic help, our highly skilled team is here and ready to help.
New lines, wrinkles on your forehead and crow’s feet can be frustrating signs of aging. From sun exposure to genetics to simply frowning or squinting, sometimes the muscles in our eyes become overworked. Botox is a safe, nonsurgical injection that blocks the impulses from the nerve to the facial muscle, and helps the skin appear smoother and reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Botox is a temporary solution for addressing these challenges, treating migraines and overactive sweat glands and can last 3 -5 months. Botox® uses Botulinum Toxin, a treatment developed to help patients experiencing the visual signs of aging. This safe and effective procedure treats aging skin and reduces wrinkles. Botox® is considered the best non-surgical form of facial rejuvenation and produces phenomenal improvements in your appearance. Patients can usually return to normal activities immediately after the procedure, but should avoid too much exercise, applying cosmetics, or lying down for a minimum of 4 hours after the injections.
Entropion occurs when the lower eyelid and eyelashes turn inward and cause the eyelid and lashes to rub against the cornea and conjunctiva. It’s most commonly caused by aging, infection or scarring on the inner surface of the eyelid, or due to eyelid injuries or tumors. Symptoms of Entropion include excessive tearing, eyelid crusting, mucus discharge, corneal irritation, sagging skin, impaired vision, redness, eye pain, sensitivity to light and foreign body sensation in the eye. Ectropion occurs when the lower eyelid turns outward and doesn’t touch the eye, leaving the cornea and conjunctiva exposed, red and irritated. It’s most commonly caused by aging, undetected skin cancers or skin disease, trauma, scar tissue, facial nerve palsy or due to past eyelid or facial surgery. Symptoms of Ectropion include excessive tearing, eyelid crusting, mucus discharge, infection, corneal irritation, sagging skin, impaired vision, eye pain, sensitivity to light and poor tear drainage.
