From fundraisers with Carson Wentz’s AO1 Foundation to our Kremer Cares non-profit organization, the team at Kremer Eye Center has always been committed to giving back.

As we approach the holiday season, the spirit of giving and gratitude continues to take the spotlight. To help better the lives of those all over the area, giving the gift of sight to an individual from our local Philadelphia community was the most meaningful gift our team could give.

From October 14-20, Kremer Eye Center was happy to be a part of the 5^th Annual National Sight Week, sponsored by the American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) Foundation. In partnership with Operation Sight, Kremer’s newest surgeon, Rebecca Bausell, M.D., performed free cataract surgery for a local individual in need.

 “I am very excited to perform cataract surgery for Operation Sight”, says Dr. Bausell. “Having good vision is so vitally important and helping patients to see better is the most fulfilling aspect of my career. I’m thrilled to volunteer for this amazing organization.”

ABOUT NATIONAL SIGHT WEEK

For seven days, National Sight Week celebrates volunteers’ contributions and their dedication to helping even more patients receive the gift of sight. During the week, members of the ASCRS Operation Sight network contribute one or more charitable cataract surgeries in their own communities.

The ASCRS Foundation also matches eligible patients in need with volunteer surgeons.

ABOUT OPERATION SIGHT

Operation Sight is the domestic charitable cataract surgery program of the ASCRS Foundation, and they work with uninsured American patients who are unable to get the cataract care they need. With help from established charities and ASCRS-member volunteer surgeons, Operation Sight can provide necessary care to those who cannot afford or do not have access to surgery.

“The ASCRS Foundation’s Operation Sight initiative offers a solution for Americans in need by enabling ASCRS member eye surgeons to perform charitable cataract surgeries in their own communities with administrative and financial support from the ASCRS Foundation,” said Dr. Stephen Lane, M.D., Domestic Initiatives, co-chair of the ASCRS Foundation. “Together, we’re working to end preventable cataract blindness in the United States.”
