Elmwood Park, NJ – Starting Monday, May 18th, Phillips Eye Specialists with offices located in Elmwood Park and Union City, NJ will welcome back the community for all eye care services.

Over the last eight weeks, Phillips was seeing only emergency patients and necessary post-operative follow-up appointments. The team implemented telemedicine to triage other medical appointments. The office is thrilled to be opening their doors to all patients and all appointments with some new safety protocols put in place.

We are committed to keeping patients and staff safe and are taking the following steps to reduce the risk and spread of COVID-19 in our offices:

• Social Distancing – We are offering curbside check-in for all patients. When you arrive at the center, a staff member will meet you at the front door to get your information as well as give you a temperature check. In each office waiting area we distanced all chairs 6-feet apart.

• Extensive Cleaning – Before and after every patient, exam rooms and equipment are thoroughly cleaned. Waiting areas, surfaces, and restrooms are being regularly sanitized throughout the day. At each office entrance, as well as throughout the offices, we have hand sanitation stations.

• Patient Screenings – As patients re-register for their appointment, they are required to answer a COVID-19 questionnaire the day before arriving.

• Staff Training/Screenings – We are providing extra training and education for staff about the importance of hygiene, facemasks, and cough etiquette. Each day, staff is screened for possible symptoms of COVID-19 including a temperature check. All staff is required to wear masks.

What We Ask of You

• Please come to the office with a mask or face covering. You are required to wear it throughout the entire appointment.
• Do not bring anyone with you to your appointment unless medically necessary.
• We ask that you stay home and reschedule if you are not feeling well or experiencing any possibly COVID-19 symptoms. See the CDC Guidelines on possible symptoms.

At-Home Convenient Care

Although we have returned to normal operations, we will continue to offer telemedicine appointments for individuals who prefer to be seen from the comfort of their home or workplace.
