Check out our sit-down interview with Dr. Gurwin below to learn more about her and what she can do for her patients.

What made you want to join the Kremer team?

I decided to join the Kremer team because of the top-notch care that the team provides each patient. As physicians, our primary goal is always to put the needs of the patient first, and it was obvious from my first interactions at Kremer that this is a cornerstone of the Kremer philosophy.

I am excited to be joining a group of dedicated world-class medical professionals who are recognized leaders in the field who strive to provide the best care possible.

Why did you decide to pursue a career as an Oculoplastic Surgeon?

For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated by science and passionate about the arts. I studied fine arts and have always loved to paint and create art in my free time. I have found that oculoplastic surgery combines art and science and requires creativity, dexterity, and attention to detail. Even more rewarding is the field’s focus on reconstructing tissues not only for aesthetic and functional purposes but also for the additional emphasis on protecting and restoring vision. It is this elegant balance of function, aesthetics, sight, and intricate detail that is so appealing to me. I truly love oculoplastic surgery, and feel so lucky to have found a profession that combines my passions so seamlessly.

Which cosmetic procedures do you perform?

I perform a variety of facial cosmetic procedures. These include upper and lower eyelid blepharoplasty, eyebrow lift, Botox, facial filler, and facial laser.

What advice would you give to a patient considering cosmetic procedures?

Do your research! Before making the investment in a cosmetic procedure, you need to understand who the right surgeon is for your needs. I have undergone extensive training in ophthalmology and completed an ASOPRS fellowship in oculoplastic surgery. This unique training focuses on improving facial aesthetics and function while protecting ocular health and vision.

How do you think the industry has advanced since you started, and where do you see it going in the future?

The field of medicine is always evolving and advancing. I set aside time regularly to read the latest medical journals and research so that I am always at the forefront of my specialty. Large advancements in non-surgical cosmetic procedures have allowed us to offer incredible cosmetic results without the need of an operating room. This means quicker recovery times for patients and more accessible procedures.

What do you like to do when you are not at the office?

Outside of the office and operating room, I love spending time with my family. My husband and I have two young children which means that we spend a lot of time creating, dreaming, and playing with them. I also enjoy painting and crafting, and I love to travel and explore the world whenever the opportunity presents itself.
