Dr. Bausell is a board certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained corneal surgeon.  She specializes in refractive vision correction surgery (LASIK/PRK), cataract surgery including specialty lens implantation, and treatment of the cornea including collagen cross-linking for keratoconus.

Dr. Bausell graduated magna cum laude with distinction in research from Boston University where she studied psychology and public health. She earned her medical degree from Columbia University and completed her residency at the University of Pennsylvania Scheie Eye Institute. She continued her training at the University of Maryland where she competed a fellowship in Cornea and External Disease.

Dr. Bausell has authored many publications in peer-reviewed journals and has received several academic and research awards. She stays up to date with the latest technology in cataract and refractive surgery and is a member of the American Medical Association (AMA), American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), the Refractive Surgery Alliance and the American Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgery (ASCRS).
