Dr. Maher specializes in reconstructive and aesthetic oculoplastic surgery. A board certified ophthalmologist, she has been an authority in her field in New York for over 20 years. She provides solutions for cosmetic eyelid surgery, correction of eyelid deformities and malposition, orbital disease, management of periocular tumors, thyroid eye disease and trauma of the ocular adnexa. She has been recognized by Castle Connolly as a top doctor.

Dr. Maher received her undergraduate and medical school degrees from Harvard University and Harvard Medical School. Her medical training includes ophthalmology residency at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital and plastic surgical training with Dr. Byron Smith, Dr. Robert Della Rocca and Dr. Richard Lisman. She has trained eye residents at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, where she served as an Associate Director of Oculoplastic service and member of the Ocular Trauma Service.

Today, Dr. Maher trains graduate ophthalmologists in ophthalmic plastic surgery in a program credentialed by the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery. She is an assistant clinical professor of ophthalmology at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and lectures extensively in her specialty. She has authored numerous scientific papers and book chapters.
