Dr. Frances Tsai provides quality pre-operative and post-operative surgical care to patients at Omni Eye Services in New Jersey and New York while working alongside our Omni practice specialists.

Dr. Tsai graduated cum laude from California State University Los Angeles at the age of 18 from their Early Entrance Program with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with College and Departmental Honors and Minor in Biology. She later received her Doctor of Optometry from the Herbert Wertheim School of Optometry & Vision Science at the University of California, Berkeley and was the first in her family to receive a doctorate in a healthcare profession.

She completed her clinical externships at Omni Eye Services in New Jersey, San Francisco VA Medical Center, Travis Air Force Base at David Grant Medical Center, University of California San Francisco Department of Ophthalmology and Optometry, and Alameda Health System Eastmont Wellness Center. Shortly after, Dr. Tsai returned to Omni Eye Services in New Jersey and New York to complete an ocular disease and refractive surgery residency.

Dr. Tsai is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO) and member of the American Optometric Association (AOA) and New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians (NJSOP). She currently holds faculty appointments at UC Berkeley School of Optometry, SUNY College of Optometry, Drexel University PCO, MCPHS College of Optometry, New England College of Optometry, Midwestern University Arizona and Chicago, Ohio State University, University of Incarnate Rosenberg School of Optometry, and Western University. She actively mentors pre-optometry and current optometry students and is committed to inspiring and supporting first-generation healthcare professionals.

Although she is a West Coast native, Dr. Tsai enjoys exploring different cities, trying new bubble tea places, spending time with friends and family, watching Korean dramas, and attending K-pop concerts.

Dr. Tsai speaks fluent Mandarin and conversational Taiwanese.
