Jaclyn Gurwin, M.D. specializes in aesthetic and functional ophthalmic and facial plastic surgery and the diagnosis, treatment, and surgical correction of many disorders of the eye, eyelid, eyebrow, and face.

Dr. Gurwin graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania, where she studied Communication and Fine Arts and was inducted into Phi BetaKappa. She earned  her medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. She then continued her post-graduate training as an intern at a Harvard University affiliated hospital before completing her residency in ophthalmology at the Scheie Eye Institute at the University of Pennsylvania, where she was honored with the resident teaching award.

Dr. Gurwin completed an ASOPRS-accredited fellowship in Oculofacial and Orbital Reconstructive and Cosmetic Surgery at the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s world- renowned fellowship under the guidance of Mark Lucarelli, M.D.

Dr. Gurwin prides herself in taking the time to build meaningful relationships with her patients, listening to their concerns to help attain their desired goals. She takes a customized approach to provide her patients with naturally beautiful results.

Dr. Gurwin has received several academic and research awards and has authored numerous publications. Her research has gained international acclaim and has been written about widely by authors including Malcolm Gladwell. Her groundbreaking work, which studied the benefits of art education in medical training, led to the formation of an elective art curriculum at multiple leading medical schools around the country, including the University of Pennsylvania.

Outside of work, Dr. Gurwin loves to paint and travel. But most of all, she loves to spend time with her husband and children.
