Dr. Tortorici specializes in Therapeutic Optometry. A Board Certified Optometrist he joined The Phillips Eye Center as Center Director in 2000. He works closely with local optometric physicians and provides lectures to the optometric community on the latest advancements in dry eye, anterior segment disease and surgical co-management.

Dr. Tortorici completed his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Biology at Rutgers College/Rutgers University. He completed internships at Wilmington Veteran’s Hospital in Delaware and the Atlanta Eye Surgery Group in Georgi and received his Doctor of Optometry degree at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.

Dr. Tortorici has frequently participated in the “Opening Eyes” program for the New Jersey chapter of the summer games at the Special Olympics. He served on the Board of Directors for the NJ Society of Optometric Physicians and as chair of the Members Recruitment and Benefits Center for the NJSOP. He was one of the first optometrists in the nation to obtain status of Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry.

Dr. Tortorici is a member of the American Optometric Association, New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians (NJSOP), and the Hudson County Society of Optometric Physicians.
